Free At-Home Rapid COVID test kits
Updated Jan. 10, 2022: The Middlesex Library is currently out of stock of at-home COVID-19 test kits.
The Middlesex Library is distributing free rapid antigen at-home COVID-19 test kits in partnership with the Virginia Department of Health through the Supporting Testing Access through Community Collaboration (STACC) program.
Each participating library has received a limited number of test kits, and resupply is subject to national availability. As such, the Middlesex Library asks only those with a true need for a COVID-19 test submit a request at this time.
Test kits are distributed through contactless lobby pick-up at the Deltaville Branch and Urbanna Branch.
How to request a COVID-19 test kit:
- Call the library branch where you want to pick up a test kit. The Deltaville Branch phone is 804-776-7362, the Urbanna Branch phone is 804-758-5717. You may instead email the Library at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and preferred library branch.
- Library staff will take your information and give you instructions for picking up a test kit.
- Wear a face mask to pick up your test kit(s) in the lobby of the library branch. Test kits will be labelled with your last name and the date of request. Take ONLY the test kit(s) labelled with your last name.
- All directions for taking the rapid antigen at-home COVID-19 test will be included in the test kit and is intended to be taken at home. Library staff cannot assist with administering the test.
More information on the STACC program, including instructions for taking the at-home COVID-19 test is available at the Virginia Department of Health’s STACC webpage
